Finished Reading Business @ the Speed of Thought

Finished reading Business @ the Speed of Thought: Succeeding in the Digital Economy by Bill Gates. This book offers a 12-step program for companies wanting to drive their business into the digital millennium. Business @ the Speed of Thought is full of examples from companies that have engineered information networks to manage inventory, sales, and customer relationships better.

Published in 2000, several of the technology aspects of this book are out of date. Specific technology aside the philosophy of Business @ the Speed of Thought still holds true. I’m surprised how many companies still don’t fully embrace the business advantages that technology can provide. Although the technology is dated I think the Business @ the Speed of Thought is still a good read and provides a vision of the technological advantages still to come.

Business @ The Speed Of Thought

I began programming in C++ when I was in college. Odd for a business major, but hey I am a Dork. After college I got a job as System Administrator. As a System Administrator I was in charge of web administration. My journey as a PHP web developer had begun. Since that time I have gained an in depth knowledge of CSS, Javascript, XML and MySQL. With changes and advances to technology I have also began learning AJAX. I started Blue Fire Development to do freelance work in my spare time.
