Patrick Talmadge

My Dad sent me the text for his site. So tomorrow I am going to work on getting his site up and running. Not sure if I will get it finished but I will try. I started www.SmartMovingLLC.com months ago. Now looking back at the design I am not happy with it. I think I am going to redesign the site to make it look cooler. It should go quickly because he gave me all the text.

We will see what I come up with for a design. It will be a fun project tomorrow I am going try and finish it in one day. I have never done a full site design and layout in one day. Wish me luck. I am hoping my Dad will give me some money for this. I really want to get a new monitor or two for my computer. I am thinking about either getting two Dell UltraSharp 1907FP 19″ Monitors or one Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP 24″ Monitor. I think I am leaning toward the 24″.

I will let you know tomorrow if I got the site finished.

Web Site Updates

Today my new toy came via UPS. I ordered a Linksys media center extender from Ebay. I would have bought one at a retail store so I could have played with it sooner. But Hey Microsoft is not letting anyone do media center extenders anymore because they want people to buy an XBOX 360. I would love to get an XBOX 360 but I really don’t play video games much any more.

The setup was quick and every thing is going well so far. I can’t wait to put it thou its paces. I will write back later with how it is working out.

General

I finished my redesign of www.patrickandsalli.com. It is a great looking site that has a lot of cool features. I am very happy with it. I do need to finish some of the large image viewer code. The best part is the backend code I wrote years ago, code that manages the pictures and the photo albums I was able to keep it and just tweak it.

It is a good feeling when you can re-use code that your wrote 2 or 3 years ago. My next project is to finish creating www.phpwebtorial.com. I started working on the site and got side tracked by the redesign of www.patrickandsalli.com. I am trying to use the wordpress code base on www.phpwebtorial.com and make it work as a php tutorial website.

Web Site Updates

This Sunday, October 29th 2006 my Grandpa passed away. He went in peace. He left behind a wife, three daughters, and me. He was a great man, a loving and caring husband, father and grand father. 

He served his country in World War II and proudly working on the rail road till he retired. I am proud to be his grand child. My only regret is that I could not spend more time with him. 

I hope I can continue to make him proud.
